Terms of Service

By joining Ormeau Table Tennis Club ("the Club"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before completing your membership application.

1. Membership

1.1 Eligibility

Membership is open to all individuals aged 6 and above. Junior members (under 18) require consent from a parent or legal guardian. The Club reserves the right to refuse membership at its discretion.

1.2 Membership Tiers

The Club offers the following membership categories:

  • Junior: Ages 6-17, includes weekly coaching and weekend league eligibility
  • Adult: Ages 18+, includes structured coaching, league opportunities, and voting rights
  • Social: Recreational play with informal coaching tips
  • Open Play: Casual table access for members

1.3 Membership Fees

Membership fees are payable monthly by direct debit. Current pricing is available on our Join page. Fees are subject to change with 30 days' notice.

2. Payment and Cancellation

2.1 Payment Terms

Membership fees are collected on the first of each month via GoCardless direct debit. Failed payments may result in suspension of club access until payment is resolved.

2.2 Cancellation

Members must provide 30 days' written notice to cancel membership. Cancellation requests should be sent to ormeautt@live.co.uk. No refunds will be given for unused time in the final billing period.

2.3 Termination

The Club reserves the right to terminate membership immediately for:

  • Breach of these terms
  • Non-payment of fees
  • Behaviour that threatens the safety or enjoyment of others
  • Damage to Club property

3. Code of Conduct

All members are expected to:

  • Treat all members, guests, and staff with respect and courtesy
  • Abide by the rules of Table Tennis Ireland
  • Maintain good sportsmanship at all times
  • Respect Club equipment and facilities
  • Not engage in harassment, bullying, or discriminatory behaviour
  • Report any concerns to a Club officer

4. Health and Safety

4.1 Participation at Own Risk

All members participate in Club activities at their own risk. While the Club takes reasonable steps to ensure safety, table tennis is a physical activity and injuries may occur.

4.2 Health Declarations

Members must disclose any relevant medical conditions that may affect their ability to participate safely. Members with known heart conditions, injuries, or other health concerns should consult a doctor before participating.

4.3 Liability

The Club, its officers, and volunteers accept no liability for injury, loss, or damage to property arising from Club activities, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

5. Club Facilities

5.1 Equipment

Club equipment is available for use during sessions. Members are encouraged to eventually purchase their own bat. Any damage to Club equipment must be reported immediately.

5.2 Court Booking

Court access is subject to availability and Club scheduling. Priority is given to coached sessions, league matches, and official Club activities.

6. Data Protection

By becoming a member, you consent to the Club holding and processing your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.

7. Intellectual Property

The Club name, logo, and all associated materials are the intellectual property of Ormeau Table Tennis Club. Members may not use these for commercial purposes without written consent.

8. Photography and Media

The Club may take photographs or video at events for promotional purposes. By joining, you consent to appearing in such media unless you explicitly opt out in writing.

9. External Competitions

Members participating in external competitions (Table Tennis Ireland leagues, tournaments) do so as representatives of the Club and are expected to uphold its values and code of conduct.

10. Amendments

The Club reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Members will be notified of material changes via email or website posting. Continued membership after notification constitutes acceptance of amended terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.
