Ormeau Table Tennis Club held its annual team event this week, with 28 teams and 84 players participating. Three categories were contested: Main Event, Senior Championship and Junior Championship.
The Main Event was a very competitive event with 12 teams battling it out for the prestigious Ormeau Team Cup.
Team Dodgers – James Skelton, Michael Berryman & James Hanna won the title with a close 3-2 score in the final over the Hawks – Breandan O’Fiaich, Aaditya Singh & Rafferty Mckeag.
The Senior Championship saw nine teams battle it out for the Senior Club Cup.
The champions were team Phoenix – Breandan O’Fiaich, Dave Tweedie & Brian Heading who defeated team Alpha – Jeff Irvine, George Smyth & Frank Geary.
In the Junior section six teams participated in their own tournament with Ninjas – Max Skelton, Thomas Norman & Rafferty Mckeag taking top honours 3-1 over Guardians (Lucy McIvor, Grace Looney & Sophie Close.
